Pregnancy and Marriage
Pregnancy and marriage do go hand in hand since most couples want to start a family of their own. While it will be a happy moment for both husband and wife when they hear the good news, pregnancy can also bring it’s share of problems.
For starters women who are pregnant are more emotional due to the change in hormones. Typically men have a hard time handling an emotional woman. This can place a strain on the relationship for the next nine months and can continue after the baby is born.
Sometimes couples need counseling to handle the pressures and complications of pregnancy and marriage. If you feel as though you and your spouse need help don’t hesitate to contact a therapist for guidance.
Then there’s the issue of finances to add to it. It takes money to prepare for a baby. At least one of you needs to be good with budgeting as never before.
Proper health care during pregnancy is very important. Both of you need to be involved, so that it’s fully understood. This way the mother and baby maintain good health.
In addition, there’s a lot to learn about childcare. If it’s your first baby then both of you need to get educated on caring for babies. Taking classes or researching on the internet are good options. Also, take advantage of family or friends that have babies or children.
Helping other people with their baby and kids will give you first hand experience, which is the best kind. Babysitting is great too, this way you can do it on your own with no help.
It’s a good idea to discuss each issue in the planning stage. That is, before you get pregnant, so that when the time comes everything goes as smooth as it can.
A planned pregnancy is always better than an unplanned one. Pregnancy and marriage can be difficult enough without the surprise element added.
Pregnancy is supposed to be a happy and exciting time in a couples life, not stressful and pressured. Plan and prepare, so that you know what to expect.
