Tips for Marriage

A spiritual marriage is one that is based on spiritual matters and not materialistic in nature. There are people who marry because of money or success. Some would go so far as to say they’re greedy and opportunistic. These types of marriage are shallow and the people involved are typically unhappy and self serving.

Looking to outer things or people to give you happiness doesn’t work. Happiness, joy and peace come from within a person, from their heart and spirit. Contrary to popular belief people can’t be bought. Consequently, their heart doesn’t belong to you, so when they do experience love or spiritual connection they will choose to leave.

This can be an ongoing cycle of unhealthy relationships that can go on for a lifetime if it isn’t dealt with. First you need to acknowledge that you are indeed trying to buy love, admit to it and seek help. The person who allows themselves to be bought should also seek help, both parties are equally guilty and are in need of a spiritual awakening.

This way they will eventually connect with their spiritual side and learn how to love and connect with others on a spiritual level and break away from superficial relationships.

It is vital to do this BEFORE you marry. There’s no way to have a spiritual marriage without knowledge of what type of spiritual belief the other person is into. What if you discover they’re involved in New Age type spiritualism and you’re a Christian?

There can be no spirit connection when there are selfish motives at the core of the relationship. If you are the type who buys people or the type who allows themselves to be bought then there is selfish motivation with no spiritual connection.

To have a spiritual marriage there needs to be honesty first and foremost, not deception and self serving intentions. No marriage will last the test of time under false pretenses. Love or money many times isn’t enough to hold a marriage together, but a spirit connection can. That is, if you allow God to take control and follow His lead.

Finally, for a spirit connection to take place God must come first whether married or no. There is no way a spiritual marriage can work without God at the helm.
